The 2nd Annual Community Impact Summit "Resilience by Design: Thriving Amid Uncertainty was on October 14^th, 2025 at the beautiful TIAA Campus.  This summit, hosted by the Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce and its Young Professional Committee, focused on empowering individuals to engage meaningfully with local nonprofits during various stages of personal and professional development. The theme emphasized resilience, adaptability, and purpose-driven leadership in the nonprofit sector.

Panelists & Their Missions included.

1. Adenike (Nike) Ohonme – Chief of Staff, Samaritan’s Feet International
   • Focus: Global humanitarian aid through shoe distribution.
2. Charles Odell – CEO, Dilworth Center
   • Focus: Substance use disorder treatment and recovery.
3. Dr. Fahnie Shaw, EdD – COO, Communities in Schools
   • Focus: Education equity and dropout prevention.
4. Dr. Tanya O. Jones – President, NC Veterans Business Association
   • Focus: Veteran entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

They united to share authentic stories of resilience, revealing how they navigated crises and uncertainty behind the scenes.  They explored effective team leadership during times of disruption, offering strategies to sustain momentum and boost morale.  They discussed innovative approaches to future-proofing their missions, ensuring lasting impact in an ever-changing world.

The summit featured nonprofit exhibitors showcasing their missions, offering attendees opportunities to connect, collaborate, and explore volunteer or partnership opportunities.
