What We Do Matters to Charlotte
The CRVA leads in destination development, marketing and venue management capabilities for the Charlotte region. Supported venue brands include the Charlotte Convention Center, Bojangles Entertainment Complex, NASCAR Hall of Fame and back-of-house operations at Spectrum Center. Through the CRVA’s sales and marketing arm, Visit Charlotte, additional brands supported include the Charlotte Regional Film Commission and three Visitor Info Center locations.
Strategy
The CRVA is guided by a five-year strategic plan built upon the foundational Core Values of the organization. The plan reflects collective priorities in areas related to customers, financial objectives, business and employee management and culture.
Research & Reports
The CRVA’s strategy has long been rooted in data-driven analysis. Because of this, the organization relies heavily on the research of industry thought leaders, insightful forecasting and timely reporting.
Driving the Visitor Economy
The CRVA promotes the region’s place brand ‘Charlotte’ through data-driven and strategic marketing efforts to position the Queen City as a destination for visitors, a host site for meetings, conventions and events and a vibrant community to live, work and play.
Community Engagement
Special Events & Projects Grant Program
The CRVA's grant program provides robust in-kind marketing and communications support to special events and/or projects that enrich the Charlotte region, adding to the culture, quality of life and character that make the area distinctive and attractive. Events supported through the grant program are key contributors in drawing visitors to our region and create the lasting economic impact that produce substantial tax savings for every resident.
CRVA Education Scholarship
The CRVA is committed to developing the talent that drives the future of Charlotte's hospitality and tourism industry, which is one of the region's largest employment sectors. Scholarships are available to hospitality students and established hospitality professionals alike, for education and/or development.

Commitment to the Community
Uplifting Charlotte’s community is at the heart of everything the CRVA does. Every year, employee giving campaigns support organizations like United Way of Central Carolinas, Classroom Central and Levine Children’s Hospital. Employees have helped build playgrounds in our neighborhoods and they serve with a variety of community and industry organizations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina utilized the Charlotte Convention Center to distribute 3.8 million pounds of food. Conventions With A Cause
Beyond their economic impact, many meetings and conventions advance worthy causes in the region through in-kind donations, charitable giving and volunteer service projects. Groups may choose from a variety of pre-selected organizations that are designed to offer event attendees a rewarding and unique experience that will leave a lasting impact on the Charlotte community.
