About the Foundation
The Yellow Tea Rose Foundation of NC is a non-profit, charitable corporation that secures and distributes contributions from individuals, estates, government, corporations, foundations, and other sources for the sole purpose of empowering and educating women in the Charlotte Metro community in collaboration with the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The Foundation was founded in memory of Mrs. Hopie Perry, a deceased member of the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. The members of Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter had a desire to continue Mrs. Hopie Perry’s dreams of helping women further their education through awarding scholarships and creating partnerships to help empower and
education women in the community.
The Yellow Tea Rose Foundation was established in August 2006 through the generous donation of Mrs. Hopie Perry. The organization was incorporated on June 10, 2008, and is now a tax-exempt organization under the federal tax code Section 501 (c)(3). Since 2006, the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation has given out over $40,000 in scholarships to women who have continued the pursuit of higher education.
Our Mission
We, the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation of NC are a non-profit corporation that strives to help, equip, empower, and advance the education of women in the Charlotte, NC metro area. We do this through the giving of educational scholarships and providing community workshops focusing on educational, social, and leadership development.

From seven young educators, Sigma Gamma Rho has become an international service organization comprised of women from every profession. The sorority continues to lead positive change to help uplift the community through sisterhood, leadership, and service. Service
Sigma Gamma Rho's commitment to service is expressed in its slogan, "Greater Service, Greater Progress." Since 1950, the Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter has had the privilege of serving the citizens of Charlotte and surrounding communities.
