WDAV 89.9, a service of Davidson College and licensed to the Trustees of Davidson College, is a member-supported public radio station providing classical music and cultural arts programming 24 hours each day. We enrich the lives and build community through inclusive and diverse classical music experiences and excellent, accessible content.

NoteWorthy Initiatives
NoteWorthy is a series of audio stories created to broaden our view of classical music by shining a light on the lives and music of artists of color, women, and others from historically underrepresented groups. Each episode provides an introduction to an artist, performing ensemble, musicians, or composer from all eras and genres of classical music. In a couple of minutes, you can learn about the contributions these artists have made and are making to the art form while discovering some great music along the way.
The classical canon is unbelievably rich. It’s also more diverse than one may realize. Worthwhile composers and musicians are overshadowed frequently by figures that are more familiar. Three times each week, WDAV makes a point of highlighting overlooked classical artists with our NoteWorthy feature.
