About

IBG better known, as I Bang God clothing was founded in 2019 by Coach Key and Coach Jae. Christian faith-based Organization, IBG became more than just clothing, and expanded to the basketball field. Key and Jae both have a background in basketball and their love for sports never left. In the past few years, they started an AAU team, coached middle schools, recreational and YMCA basketball.

About IBG Elite

IBG Elite is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  We specialize in basketball training by providing high level quality private lessons, workouts, camps and tournaments in the Shelby, Charlotte and surrounding areas. We offer year around skill development programs for boys and girls as early as six years old.

Our Coaches

Coach Key

The love for basketball started for Coach Key at the age three.

Key played her first game at six years old, and knew basketball was her new love. Key played in middle school, high school, and some college basketball. She also attended basketball camp, adult leagues, and various organizations.

Coach Key was very active in basketball and track. She still enjoys playing basketball today in women and coed adult leagues. She is focused on being a coach and developing fundamentals and high-level skilled basketball to every child Key encounters. Coach Key aims to instill, confidence, integrity, and humility in all her lessons. While she loves coaching, Coach Key is most thankful for her opportunity to work with her husband, Coach Jae, and demonstrate her lessons to their children.

Coach Jae

Coach Jae grew up playing basketball all his life. All types of recreational basketball, youth to adult, AAU youth, YMCA, Men's leagues. He built himself a great reputation in basketball. Jae not only is a player of the sport but also a student, and he's still growing. Jae became a coach to teach the youth the inspiration behind the sport, the fundamentals and the personality growth as a player.

His motto for the players is, "It's not only about wining and dominating, but also how to enjoy the accomplishments of where you are in the moment and where you are going for the future and it's okay to work toward being better in the sport, but it also okay to work toward being better in life."

Coach Randy

Randy Simmons Jr. is native to Shelby, NC. He started playing basketball with the YMCA league at age six where he was also coached by his father (Randy Simmons Sr.). Simmons Jr. accomplished several years of undefeated seasons along with his teams. He also played a few years of AAU basketball before transitioning to playing high school JV/Varsity basketball at Shelby High School under coaches Ken Napier and Mark Pritchard. After high school, he continued to play a few years in the local men’s league before assisting with coaching.

Coach DJ

Coach DJ aka "Danney", is the newest coach within the organization. His story began when he played basketball in school ball and track. DJ's perspective transfers to his coaching abilities as he describes his mindset being "fast paced" and "all about being first".

However, he finishes with, "At the end of the day if I come in second or third place I wouldn't let that sit on me." Coach DJ would celebrate the people who came before him and return to fight for his spot in the competition.

DJ's goal as a goal is to teach his students to prepare for various circumstances, no matter how good they may be, and to keep a rich positive mentality. He encourages his students to maintain their comfort, confidence, and composure so they can see the bigger picture, even if they are in the wrong state of mind.
